The Korp Frontend

Overview

The Korp frontend is a graphical interface to the underlying Korp Web Service. In part, the frontend is a showcase for what can be accomplished with the set of web services that Språkbanken supplies; how they can be combined into a useful whole. And, of course, the usefulness of the resulting tool is not incendental – the development is first and foremost driven by language research use cases.

The Code

The Korp interface is implemented using web standards and open source frameworks. The JavaScript toolkit employed is jQuery, with the addition of the jQuery UI widget library. The code is loosely structured according to MVC principles. The controller layer of the application is currenly defined in SCXML using the Apache Commons SCXML-JS library.

Source Code

The Korp HTML/CSS/JavaScript code is made available under a GPL v.3 license. We're still working on providing methods for build/distribution; in the mean time, get in touch with us for a source snapshot.
