I am currently a PhD student in Natural Language Processing, advised by Elena Volodina, Dana Dannélls and Aarne Ranta. My project revolves around leveraging the Universal Dependencies (UD) framework to develop cross-lingually applicable approaches to Second Language Acquisition (SLA) studies and Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL).
Current focus
I am currently working on harmonized guidelines for UD as an annotation standard for learner material and treebanking the Swedish Learner Language corpus SweLL-gold. On the side, I am also developing two treebank tools:
- the STUnD Search Tool for parallel UD treebanks
- CQP/Tree, a converter that translates tree queries in to CQP, the query language used in Korp (lead developer: Niklas Deworetzki).
I am part of the CompSLA working group, where I was the main organizer of MultiGEC-2025, the first shared task on text-level Multilingual Grammatical Error Correction, and a member of UniDive.
I am also a teacher in, among others, the courses Introduction to Programming and Computational Syntax courses.
Previous projects
Over the course of my PhD, I have also:
- contributed to the development of the Lärka platform, as well as the deptreepy and deptreehs tools
- supervised Dawit Jembere's Master's thesis project
- been involved as a teacher in several programming courses at both the University of Gothenburg and at the Chalmers University of technology.
