The research community at University of Gothenburg (GU) is the largest Language Technology (LT), also known as Natural Language Processing (NLP) or computational linguistics, research group in Scandinavia and one of the largest in Europe. The research is spread over (at least) four departments in two faculties:
- The Centre for Linguistic Theory and Studies in Probability (CLASP), Department of Philosophy, Linguistics and Theory of Science
- Språkbanken Text, Department of Swedish, multilingualism, language technology
- Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
- Department of Applied Information Technology (AIT)
CLT gathers these groups and their activities under one umbrella while aiming to promote language technology research in Gothenburg.
