The 35th Alzheimer Europe Conference in Bologna

The 35th Alzheimer Europe Conference (the 35th AEC) took place in Bologna (the Bologna Congress Center) Italy, between the 6-8 October 2025, with main theme: "Connecting Science and Communities: The Future of Dementia Care". The conference (in collaboration between Alzheimer Europe, Federazione Alzheimer Italia and Alzheimer Uniti Italia) attracted over 1,500 delegates from 48 countries, setting a new attendance record.

Språkteknologi och känslor på Bokmässan i Göteborg

Årets Bokmässa i Göteborg (25–28 september 2025) blev en succé – för oss forskare från Språkbanken Text innebar den tre dagar fyllda av samtal, nyfikenhet och möten mellan människor i alla åldrar. Med tusentals besökare och ett brett program visade mässan än en gång varför den är ett av Nordens största kulturevenemang. För Göteborgs universitet (GU) var närvaron på plats både viktig och inspirerande – och i vår monter stod, bland mycket annat, språkteknologi och känslor i centrum (se bild 1 och 2).

The 11th International Conference on Computational Social Science (IC²S²) took place in Norrköping from July 21 to 24, 2025. This annual event was hosted by the Swedish Excellence Center for Computational Social Science and the Institute for Analytical Sociology (IAS) in Norrköping.

As the COVID-19 virus became a pandemic in March 2020, the amount of (time-stamped written) data, such as news/newspaper reports, scientific articles, social media posts (e.g. blogs and twitter), surveys and other information about the virus and its symptoms, prevention, management and transmission became massively available. Such data contained both valid and reliable information, and relevant facts from trusted sources and also rumors, conspiracy theories and misinformation from unofficial ones.
